Nafpaktos came under Ottoman rule in 1499; Ottoman rule ended in 1829. It changed hands in between; there are 2 separate Ottoman periods.

Sultan: Bayezid IIAfter long resistance in the wars of 1683–1699 the town fell to Venice in July 1687.
Sultan: Mehmed IVVenice held the fortress until a year after the Treaty of Karlowitz and then handed it back.
Sultan: Mustafa IIHow the total is counted: years of actual Ottoman rule are added up. Temporary occupations shorter than a year (that were reversed) are not subtracted; they appear as notes in the chronology.
On the atlas map the city lies in the region “Athens–Central Greece”. Map colours work at region level, so the city's own dates may differ from the region's by a few years.
