The document adopted in 1920 by the last Ottoman Chamber of Deputies, setting out the indivisible borders of the homeland and the conditions of independence.
The National Pact was read out in the Chamber of Deputies on 17 February 1920 and entered in the record. It held that the lands inhabited by a Turkish majority at the time of the Armistice of Mudros could not be divided, and insisted on full independence; it became the basic aim of the Turkish War of Independence. The Republic section of the atlas tells the story of the period that followed.
